5 Tips to Help You Drink Responsibly

5 Tips to Help You Drink Responsibly

During the summer, Beirut is known for its nightlife, festivals, beach parties, and family coming from all over the world for fun and vacation.

Whether partying at your preferred club, watching your favorite singer at a summer festival, or simply spending time at friends’ or family’s house, no event is complete if not accompanied by a combination of delicious food and beverage.

Soft drinks may be your choice to beat the heat.

Or you may prefer alcoholic beverages with your food; in which case, always remember that whenever alcohol comes into play, drinking responsibly is of the utmost importance, for your safety and the safety of others.

Here are 5 useful tips to help you do that:

Tip #1: Never Drink alone

Always drink with friends or family. They can help keep you safe if your judgement becomes impaired, making sure you don’t end up leaving with someone you do not know.

Tip #2: Eat Food Before and While You Drink

Eating a meal before you drink will help to make sure the alcohol does not hit you too fast or too strong. Food will also help keep you from drinking too much too quickly.

Tip #3: Drink a Glass of Water Between Drinks

Hangovers are a result of dehydration. Keeping yourself hydrated while you drink can help negate at least some of the symptoms of a hangover the next day.

Tip #4: Beware of Sweet Alcoholic Beverages

Sweet beverages can be deceiving, as it can be difficult to detect the true alcohol content. This can lead to becoming overwhelmed by the alcohol quicker and more intensely than you intended.

Tip #5: Do Not Drink and Drive

Refraining from drinking and driving is the most important tip of all. Be sure to have a designated driver or have a taxi pre-paid before you begin drinking. This can save your life and lives of others.
