Round The Clock Tips to Manage Work- Related Stress

Round The Clock Tips to Manage Work- Related Stress

It’s a simple fact of life that work is a necessity. But just because 40 hours of your week have to be spent working doesn’t mean that work related stress needs to follow.  Below we have listed round the clock tips to keep you stress free and protected from burn-out, no matter what job you have or how stressful it may be.

Before Reaching the Office

Start your day stress free

Reaching the office already stressed doesn’t bode well for the rest of the day!

Doing what you can to arrive at the office de-stressed and ready to tackle your day with 100% productivity is going to help both your work performance as well as your general wellbeing. Otherwise smaller problems will suddenly feel that much larger and more difficult to face. Sleeping well, waking up early with enough time to get ready, eating a healthy breakfast, listening to music on your way to the office are just examples of how this can be achieved.

Don’t bring your home life to work

Do your best to keep a hard, non-negotiable separation between your work life and your home life. Mixing your home self with your business self will only set you back. You will have a harder time completing your tasks successfully and making a good impression on your coworkers and management.

While at the Office

Get Organized

When you’re at the office, the most important thing to work on to keep your stress level to a minimum is to get organized. Declutter that desk, take time to schedule things and set both short and long-term goals, and by doing so help yourself by breaking longer and more complicated projects into shorter, more doable tasks.

Don’t skip breaks

Working non-stop won’t help you get more tasks done in the long run because you’ll be operating at half the level of productivity when you’re worn out.

Don’t hesitate to seek help

Letting your pride stop you from asking someone for a little bit of help will only hurt you personally and professionally. There’s no shame in reaching out for a helping hand when you need it.

Back Home

Disconnect

Just because technology can reach you anytime and anywhere doesn’t mean that it should reach you anytime and anywhere. Take the time to recharge by switching off. Enjoying time with your family or friends or going the gym are great ways to de-stress after a long day at the office. If you allow work related stress to follow you home, it can have a major impact on your overall quality of life.

Take your annual leave

When you take those vacation days, remember that you earned them! Don’t compromise your time to relax by making yourself available 24/7.

Don’t get burnt out. Follow these steps to keep a healthy work-life balance and let that work related stress roll right off your shoulders.
